Tired

Tired. Have you ever been tired? We have. We have experienced the kind of tired that makes your whole body hurt. The kind of tired that comes from months then years of treatments and stay after stay in the hospital. The kind of tired that allows you to catch 5 minute naps whenever you can - even though it is never enough.

It seems hard to believe that we feel that kind of tired after 1 month. Is it memory converging with reality for a double-whammy? Today is a day for the verse Matthew 11:28. Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. We know He will not give us more that we we can handle. Scripture also says in Philippians 4:13 that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Even though we might be tired, there is a precious girl in the other room who needs us. So - we press on, and we know we can do this even when we are tired because Jesus is with us every step of the way.

Today Lily had her treatment and tests to see how the chemo is affecting the disease. We will not have the complete results until next week, but Dr. Xavier was pleased with what she saw today. We will take that!

Lily also got a blood transfusion today. Her counts were on the low side, so we opted to go ahead and give her blood. We want to give her every advantage that we can, and the transfusion will help her to feel better.

Today is the last day for the steroid during this part of our treatment! Hopefully, since we are ending the steroid, the diabetes will be over soon!

We ask that you pray for our girl. Please pray that:

  1. The chemo is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

  2. That Lily will experience minimal side effects.

  3. That Lily will no longer need insulin shots.

  4. Lily has developed some mouth sores as a result of the treatment. Please pray that those would be managed and that they would not become too painful.

  5. Pray that Dr. Xavier would have wisdom and discernment as she directs Lilyś treatment.

Many of you have reached out to us to offer your help and support. We are so grateful. Thank you for the food, the prayers, the happys that you have sent Lily and Micah. We feel so loved.
